Why metals matter to traders
Gold has a long history as a store of value and tends to attract flows when real interest rates fall, when inflation expectations rise, or when geopolitical risk increases. Silver behaves similarly but with an industrial demand component that makes it more volatile.
Metals are commonly used to diversify a book dominated by currency exposure, because their drivers only partly overlap with the interest-rate differentials that move forex.
Until metals are listed, the closest exposure available on NOVEDOX is through commodity-linked currencies: AUD/USD and AUD/JPY carry meaningful sensitivity to metals demand, and USD/CAD to crude oil.
