What you get
A complete trading account, funded with simulated money
The NOVEDOX demo is not a stripped-back preview or a scheduled trial. It is the production trading terminal, connected to the same live price stream, with a simulated balance instead of a real one. Everything you learn on it transfers directly, because the platform you are learning is the platform you would trade on.
The account is created and credited automatically at registration. There is no separate demo signup, no deposit, no card details, and nothing to configure. Register, verify your email with the code we send you, and the terminal opens with a $10,000 simulated balance ready to trade.
What is included
- $10,000 in simulated funds, credited automatically the moment your account is created.
- The same live streaming prices a live account receives, not delayed, not synthetic, not replayed historical data.
- All 31 instruments: 7 forex majors, 12 crosses, 4 exotics and 8 crypto instruments trading around the clock.
- Candlestick charts across five timeframes, so you can practise the higher-timeframe bias and lower-timeframe entry workflow properly.
- Full order functionality: market and pending orders with stop-loss and take-profit levels attached at entry.
- Position management: live profit and loss, adjustable stops and targets, partial closes and margin monitoring.
- Complete trade history and ledger, which is the raw material for a trading journal.
- 200:1 default leverage, so margin behaves exactly as it would on a live account.
- A resettable balance, so a blown demo account is a lesson rather than the end of your practice.
- No time limit. The demo does not expire after thirty days, and it does not disappear when you fund a live account.
Because both accounts sit under one login, you can switch between demo and live in the terminal at any time useful for testing an unfamiliar setup on simulated funds without leaving the platform or keeping separate credentials.
Getting started
Three steps to your first trade
There is no application, no waiting period and no funding requirement.
Register
Enter an email address and choose a password. We send a one-time code to that address, enter it to confirm the email is yours. That is the whole process.
No identity documents, no proof of address and no payment details are required for a demo account.
Your demo is already funded
The $10,000 simulated balance is credited automatically when the account is created. Open the terminal and the balance, margin and equity figures are live from the first second.
Nothing to claim, activate or request, and no deposit to make first.
Place your first trade
Pick an instrument, EUR/USD is the conventional starting point, open the chart, and place a small position with a stop-loss and take-profit attached at entry.
Size it with the position size calculator rather than guessing. Building that habit on demo is the entire point.
Side by side
Demo vs live
The platform is identical. What differs is where the money comes from, and what happens when you are wrong.
| Demo account | Live account | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting balance | $10,000 in simulated funds, credited automatically at registration | Whatever you deposit in USDT via TRC-20, BEP-20 or ERC-20 |
| Prices | The same live streaming market prices as a live account | The same live streaming market prices |
| Instruments | All 31 — 7 majors, 12 crosses, 4 exotics, 8 crypto | All 31, identical list |
| Charts & timeframes | Candlestick charts across five timeframes | Identical |
| Order types & risk tools | Market and pending orders, stop-loss, take-profit, partial closes | Identical |
| Leverage | 200:1 by default, with margin behaving exactly as on a live account | 200:1 by default |
| Deposit required | None, and no payment details are collected | Yes, in USDT on a supported network |
| Identity verification | Not required | Required, document and selfie verification through Didit before funding |
| Profits | Simulated. They cannot be withdrawn and have no cash value | Real, and subject to real market and platform conditions |
| Losses | Simulated. Reset the balance and continue | Real. Leveraged trading carries a high risk of losing money rapidly |
| Balance reset | Yes, restore the simulated balance and start again | No |
| Time limit | None. The demo does not expire and stays available after you go live | None |
| Emotional pressure | Substantially lower. This is the one genuine difference that matters | Real, and consistently underestimated by traders arriving from demo |
Be realistic
Where demo trading stops teaching
A demo account teaches mechanics, platform fluency, chart reading and position sizing extremely well. There is one thing it cannot reproduce, and pretending otherwise would set you up badly: the psychological weight of risking money you actually care about.
The difference shows up in specific, predictable behaviours. On demo, traders hold through a drawdown calmly, because the number on the screen is abstract. Live, the same drawdown produces an urge to close early, or worse, to widen the stop. On demo, a losing streak is a curiosity. Live, it produces the impulse to double size and win it back. Demo traders take the trades their plan calls for; live traders hesitate on the good ones and force the marginal ones.
None of this means demo practice is wasted. It means the transition needs to be handled deliberately rather than as an afterthought.
Making the transition well
- Start far smaller than your demo size. If you traded 0.2 lots on demo, start with 0.01 live. The purpose of the first live trades is to experience the emotion, not to earn.
- Deposit an amount you can genuinely afford to lose. If losing it would change your circumstances, it is too much, and you will trade badly because of it.
- Keep the written plan you used on demo. Same instruments, same setups, same risk percentage. Change one variable at a time, and let it be the money.
- Set a daily loss limit before your first live trade, and stop when it is hit. This single rule prevents most catastrophic days.
- Expect to trade worse at first. That is normal and it is information, not failure. Keep sizing small until the discipline holds under pressure.
- Keep using the demo. It remains available alongside your live account, test unfamiliar setups there rather than on capital.
Two habits worth building on demo
Trade the demo as though it were real. A demo used to see what happens with 20 lots teaches nothing except that leverage is powerful. Set a realistic simulated balance in your head, size every position from your stop and your risk percentage, and treat the drawdowns seriously.
Keep a journal from the first trade. Log the thesis, the invalidation, the size and how you felt, not just entry and exit. The habit is far harder to start later, and the terminal’s trade history gives you the factual record to write against. More on this in the trading academy and the research framework.
Make it count
What to actually practise
An unstructured demo teaches you very little. These four exercises teach a great deal.
Platform fluency
Place a dozen small trades with stops and targets attached at entry. Adjust a stop on a running position. Close half a position. Read your margin figures. The mechanics must be automatic before anything else can be.
Sizing arithmetic
For every trade, calculate the size from your stop and your risk percentage, then check that the loss when the stop is hit matches your calculation. Do it until you can produce the number without a calculator.
One instrument, one session
Watch a single pair in a single session window for a fortnight. You will learn its typical daily range, how it behaves at the London open, and which releases move it, knowledge that only comes from repetition.
Following a written plan
Write the plan first, then take only the trades it permits, including on the days it permits none. This is the hardest exercise on the list and the one that transfers most directly to live trading.

Common questions
About the demo account
Is the demo account really free?
Yes. There is no charge, no deposit, no payment details collected and no trial period. It is funded with $10,000 in simulated money automatically when you register, and it does not expire.
Can I withdraw profits made on the demo?
No. Demo funds are simulated and have no cash value. Any profit shown on a demo account is a record of what would have happened, not money you own. The demo exists to teach the platform and your own process.
Please note that withdrawals are also not yet available on live NOVEDOX accounts. That functionality is on the roadmap rather than live today. We say so plainly rather than implying otherwise.
Are the demo prices real?
Yes. The demo receives the same live streaming market prices as a live account. Charts, quotes and the movement you see are the real market, not a simulation or replayed historical data. What is simulated is your balance and the fills against it.
Does the demo expire?
No. There is no thirty-day limit and no expiry date, and the demo stays available alongside your live account if you later fund one. Many traders keep using it indefinitely to test unfamiliar setups without risking capital.
Can I reset the balance if I blow the account?
Yes. The simulated balance can be reset so you can start again. Before you do, it is worth reviewing what happened, a blown demo account is one of the most instructive things that can happen to you, and it costs nothing. Look at whether the cause was sizing, a missing stop, or a decision taken outside your plan.
How long should I stay on demo before going live?
There is no fixed period, and time on demo matters less than what you did with it. The useful test is whether you have a written trading plan and have followed it across a meaningful run of trades without improvising. If you cannot state your instruments, setups, risk percentage and daily loss limit from memory, stay on demo.
The readiness checklist above is a reasonable standard to hold yourself to.
Do I need identity verification for a demo?
No. A demo account requires only an email address and a password, plus the one-time code we email you to confirm the address. Document and selfie verification through Didit is required only before funding a live account, as part of our anti-money-laundering obligations.
Can I have a demo and a live account at the same time?
Yes, and it is the recommended setup. Both sit under the same login, and the terminal has an account switcher so you can move between them. Use the demo for unfamiliar instruments and untested setups and keep the live account for the process you already trust.
What can I trade on the demo?
The full instrument list: 7 forex majors, 12 crosses, 4 exotics and 8 crypto instruments, identical to a live account. The complete breakdown, with the character of each group, is on pairs to trade.
Which device do I need?
Any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. The NOVEDOX terminal is browser-based, so there is nothing to download or install. Native mobile apps, MetaTrader 5 and cTrader are not available yet, see platforms for current status.
